Skills and Qualifications

• University degree in transport, civil engineering, urban planning, or related field
• Proven experience in urban or passenger transport, sustainable or inclusive mobility
• Skilled in research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and report drafting
• Knowledge of inclusive transport for social groups: women, elderly, low-income, persons with disabilities
• Experience designing and conducting transport surveys
• Familiarity with ESCAP indicators such as SUTI and EPIC preferred

Experience

Professional experience in transport research and inclusive mobility assessment required

Job Description

Under the UNDA project on inclusive transport in SIDS, the consultant will support the national assessment of Fiji’s urban transport system. Responsibilities include:
• Mapping current levels of social inclusion and accessibility in urban transport
• Designing and conducting transport accessibility surveys
• Analyzing policies on accessibility, gender equality, and affordability
• Drafting a national assessment report
• Developing inclusive transport indicators based on ESCAP guidelines
• Leading stakeholder consultations, meetings, and a national workshop
• Supporting dissemination of findings to local and regional partners
