Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture, Engineering or related field.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

ExperienceFive (5) years of related experience in planning, zoning, and/or related community development activities. Experience with working with Washington State land use and environmental law preferred.
SalaryAs per industry standards

Job Description

Under the direction of the Land Use Program Manager, review land use applications and proposals for compliance with various local, state and federal requirements; shepherds cases through the approval process; Participate in and/or attend community/citizen/advisory/commission and Council meetings to learn about the interest to the community and provide an interested presence; Facilitate community and public involvement meetings in order to gather information, review and secure support for city policies and of the city’s comprehensive Plan and related elements; facilitate public processes and Commission proceedings; Conduct research, perform analysis and integrate completed work into composite reports or presentations of both narrative and graphic nature; present findings, analysis and recommendations to the Hearing Examiner, Planning Commission, City Council, community groups or representatives of other agencies.

This is a full-time, regular, exempt position.

At this time, this position is eligible for telework or hybrid schedule. As with all routine telework positions, employees may be required to come into the office on occasion based on business needs. Telework may be subject to change at a future time. Currently, all employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the City cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.
