Organisation Details
UN-Habitat works globally for sustainable cities and communities under SDG 11. This assignment is part of a youth inclusion program supported by the Swiss Embassy in Tunisia and focuses on engaging young professionals, particularly those with disabilities, in urban development and infrastructure planning through GIS technology.
Job Description
As a National UN Youth Volunteer, the GIS Youth Engineer will support the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure in Tunisia by:
Managing and updating digital geographic data related to urban flood risk
Developing planning maps and analytical GIS layers
Supporting the integration of GIS tools into urban planning workflows
Working under the supervision of the Director of Urban Water Management Studies
Collaborating with stakeholders to enhance flood resilience and sustainable urban development
This role is integral to advancing urban infrastructure planning, with a strong focus on inclusivity and data-driven decision-making.
