Skills and Qualifications

• Must meet ONE of the following at the time of application:
• Enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s level or higher), OR
• Enrolled in final academic year of a Bachelor’s degree, OR
• Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD.
• Computer literate in standard software (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Keen interest in the work of the UN and commitment to UN Charter ideals.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Excellent drafting skills in English.
• Preferred fields of study: Social Sciences, Urban Planning, Geography, or related.
• Professional experience: Not required.
• Languages: Fluency in English required; knowledge of French or other UN languages desirable.

ExperienceNo professional work experience required. (UN internship norms)
SalaryInternships at the UN are unpaid. Travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses must be covered by the intern or their sponsoring institution.

Job Description

• Support background research for an expert group meeting (theme to be defined).
• Identify suitable speakers for the expert meeting.
• Assist in developing two major projects:
• Cooperative Housing
• Housing Initiatives for Roma Communities
• Provide general office support including:
• Note-taking
• Meeting coordination
• Administrative tasks
• Assist in day-to-day operations of the Brussels office team
