The role is based within the Climate Change Division, supporting India’s national pathways for sustainable cooling and green building materials.
Job Description
The Programme Management Officer will coordinate India’s transition to sustainable buildings and cooling through project development, implementation, evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. Core responsibilities include:
Drafting policy recommendations and reports
Supporting coordination with Indian ministries and state bodies
Developing investment frameworks for sustainable cooling
Organizing national stakeholder workshops, technical groups, and field missions
Contributing to UNEP’s GlobalABC and Cool Coalition objectives in India
Liaising with government, private sector, and civil society on technical implementation and scaling
