Skills and Qualifications

Full-time student registered in the final semester (only thesis remaining) of a Bachelor of Architecture and/or Planning at an accredited school of Architecture and/or Planning in India.

o Sound knowledge of international best practices and demonstration of use of innovative techniques in urban design, urban planning, and sustainable development.

o Demonstrated leadership and ability to work in collaborative multi-discipline groups

o Excellent data manipulation abilities (MS Excel/MS Access database type packages0

o Knowledge of GIS packages Mapinfo, ArcGIS preferred

o Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D / Civil3D preferred

o Proficient using Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)

o Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

o Coordinate and prepare technical report for the projects including data collection, coordinate surveys, compilation, analysis, design drawings, 3D visualizations, reports, presentations, general graphics and info graphics, etc.

o General knowledge of construction techniques and practices, construction management

o Capable to analyze, assess, evaluate the issues, complexity pertaining to projects / work packages and support the team lead in mitigating them in advance

o Competent level of client service management, i.e. able to interface with clients and to build and maintain lasting, positive relationships with our Clients

o Rigorous attention to detail, able to understand and adopt workflows and commitment to personal professional development

o Flexible attitude to accepting different work assignments and pro-active attitude to execution / delivery

o Indian citizen eligible to work in India

Experience5-7 years relevant experience.

Job Description

Primary Purpose of Job:

Contribute to the ongoing growth of STANTEC ResourceNet Private India Ltd by providing Urban Planning support to our regional teams as you work as a team member of the Community Development Business Operating Unit.

Support project local and regional managers/team leader by providing support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations.

Key Accountabilities:

o Assisting regional PM deliver land development / redevelopment planning

o Assisting regional PM develop and deliver project from early concept through design development.

o Preparing and completing feasibility Studies

o Master planning – neighborhoods, streetscapes, and airports

o Assisting regional PMs with entitlement procurement for large-scale communities.

o Exposure to region specific design codes, standards, and specifications.

Key responsibilities

o Land development / re development

 Analyze, understand, and produce development regulations

 Define development resilience

 Develop a plan for Community outreach

o Feasibility study

 Define available options

 Determine the efficiency, effectiveness, safety of the options

 Analyze lifecycle costs – financial, social, and environmental

 Summarize conclusions

 Recommend preferred option

o Master plans – Neighborhoods, streetscapes, and airports

 Develop a phasing and implementation schedule with action priorities identified

 SWOT analysis of sites, development of high level conceptual options, location and layout of master planning land uses.

 Conceptualize 3D urban environments

 Define public, semi-public and private spaces and amenities

 Define the mix of uses and their physical relationship

 Detail corridor legibility within streetscapes

 Define multimodal transportation planning

 Develop a plan for local community engagement

o Entitlement procurement for large-scale communities

o Work in collaboration with Project lead and other leads and engineers, designers.

o Ensure the use of consistent design standards and best practices on projects

o Developing excellence by ensuring project efficiencies are achieved.

o Ensure that the quality programs, appropriate design procedures and systems are followed.
