a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
c. Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent

Organisation Details

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. UN-Habitat supports the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the urban dimensions of the Paris Agreement and the SDGs. Its current normative and operational activities are guided by its Strategic Plan 2020-2023, targeting reduced poverty and inequality, balanced urban-regional development, climate action and support in crisis contexts. The Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) was established in 1997 in Fukuoka, Japan. The Office serves countries in the Asia and Pacific region. Currently UN-Habitat ROAP implements projects in 21 countries. Countries with UN-Habitat Offices include: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Fiji, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, the Solomon Islands, Thailand and Vietnam. Internships are deployed in the Regional Office and the majority of the offices in countries, subject to demand and security

Job Description

• Assist the preparation of concept notes, background documents and position papers;
• Support in the development of research papers, funding proposals and supplementary documents for resource mobilization, coordination of city profiling and joint programming;
• Aid the review of progress on human settlement and urban-related indicators in Thailand;
• Search for and identify funding opportunities and calls for expression of interest;
• Support information and knowledge management for inter-agency collaboration;
• Contribute to the management of websites, social media and drafting of newsletters;
• Help in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of events in Thailand and in the region;
• Assist in the administration, budgeting and financial management aspects of programme management including but not limited to monitoring, review and reporting;
• Aid in the design of context-specific resources and materials relevant for Thailand, as well as, support in the provision of translation and interpretation as needed;
• Undertake other assignments as required for the development and implementation of the work programme of ROAP and in delivering the strategy of UN-Habitat Bangkok Office.
