Skills and Qualifications

• Provide communication and outreach support to activities/events under the E-mobility
project, as well as other projects under GIZ India’s sustainable transport portfolio
• Development of content and promotion of content through various channels
• Co-ordination and facilitation support during events like conferences, seminars, etc.
• Documentation of activities, progress, and events
• Support with graphic and editorial enhancement of already developed content
• Preparation of speeches, talking points, summaries, forewords, prefaces, blogs, social
media posts, etc. related to the projects’ activities and content
• Coordination with external consultants supporting creative/communication-related activities

Experience• 1-3 years of relevant work experience post-qualification • Experience of projects/assignments related to urban mobility • Strong communications, research, editing, and writing skills • In-depth knowledge of digital media, visual communications, and interactive storytelling methods • Ability to translate technical messages into simple ones for diverse audiences • Experience of editorial work with newspapers, magazines digital platforms would be a plus • Knowledge of the political and environmental situation in India about urban development, mobility, and climate change • Working experience on projects with development cooperation’s would be an asset

Job Description

1. Content generation, development, and production
• Identify opportunities to position and mainstream the projects, and its outcomes on social
media, and other platforms
• Suggest communication products and platforms to enhance visibility of the projects’ work
• Pro-actively glean knowledge of project activities and outcomes from the team members
for storyboarding and identification of ideas to make the project more visible and accessible
to various stakeholders
• Write speeches, talking points, briefs, report forewords, prefaces, etc.
• Maintain photo documentation of internal and external meetings and events; build a
repository of quick video bytes and quotes from teams and partners for each activity
• Re-purpose technical content into layman-friendly language and use in media posts (social
media, print or others), blogs, press releases, talking points, newsletters etc.
• Support development of different project/region specific communication strategies and
products (like newsletter) and plan of action in coordination with the project team
• Oversee and undertake production and maintenance of existing and future communication
products (reports, videos, creatives, website, etc.) manage relationships with external
vendors and consultants for the production schedules and work of designers and
developers.
2. Basic content designing, editing, and presentation
• Developing quick graphics, infographics, and presentations
• Editing, proof-reading, and formatting of project documents in line with GIZ/Partner’s
communications guidelines.
3. Distribution, promotion and monitoring of content on non-digital and digital
platforms
• Research and identify new avenues for digital content distribution and promotion
• Develop a schedule for distribution of updates/news regarding the project via these
platforms and oversee the distribution of content via multiple channels
• Provide support on communications partnerships, campaigns, or initiatives, which could
include reviewing concepts, providing inputs on strategic documentations, coordinating
with relevant stakeholders, etc.
4. Miscellaneous
• Support organising and outreach of in-person and virtual events, conferences, seminars,
etc. including documentation support
• Work closely with the GIZ in-house communications teams on checks for branding and
website updating
• Coordination with external design/communications vendors for production of all kinds of
communication and knowledge products
• Follow-up and coordination amongst other mobility project teams on communication needs
• Work and coordinate extensively with the respective project coordinators of the mobility
projects within the GIZ team
• Maintain a healthy and effective communication with the Indian and German partners, and
other stakeholders
