Skills and Qualifications

• Master’s degree in fields such as Urban Planning, Environment, Water, Engineering, Public Policy, Economics, International Relations, or related fields
• Understanding of integrated sustainable planning, Nature-based Solutions (NbS), gender-sensitive planning, low-carbon mobility, and program implementation/project management
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and GIS software (ArcMap, AutoCAD Map, QGIS)
• Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, independently, and under pressure
• Desirable: Experience with Central/State Government bodies, National Urban Missions (SMART City, AMRUT), multilateral/bilateral organizations, resource centers, NGOs, or communities
• Language proficiency in English (regional language and Hindi desirable)
• Procurement certifications (desirable)

ExperiencePreferably experience in program implementation/project management related to urban development initiatives
SalaryAs per industry norms.

Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager/Project Coordinator will support the Team Lead/Project Implementation Lead (PMU) at NIUA to execute all project activities for the GEF project. Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, planning project activities, organizing meetings, managing project-specific data, supporting financial reporting, assisting in procurement, and preparing project deliverables. The role involves technical assistance to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), capacity building, knowledge management, and ensuring gender-sensitive practices.
