Bachelor degree in Planning/ Architecture/ Civil Engineering + Master degree in Transport Planning/Transportation Engineering

Experience• 8-10 years of relevant full-time work experience in planning/ designing/ implementation of urban transport systems • Experience of working on city level transport projects like planning for Multimodal Integration, Last mile connectivity prioritizing pedestrianization, PT and NMV, etc., • Should have an adequate understanding of the microsimulation software or any other modeling software relevant to transportation planning • Should have exposure to planned and administered data collection activities like traffic counts, opinion surveys, household surveys, O-D surveys, etc. necessary for urban transport projects. • Experience in working with public sector organizations and government agencies is desirable • Strong ability to employ qualitative and quantitative research methods; familiarity with statistical analysis software and geographic information system (GIS) is essential • Ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner (Reports/ presentations) with written and spoken English skills • Proficiency in Kannada is desirable
SalaryConsolidated pay of Rs. 1,00,000/- per month

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a Joint Venture of the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka, is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the Metro Rail Project in the city of Bangalore.

Job Description

Develop work-plan for sustainable connectivity options
• Coordinate with DULT and Design Unit of BMRCL for planning of new station layouts and improvement of existing stations and surrounding areas to facilitate multi-modal mobility options
• Undertake assessment of Multi modal integration plans with associated infrastructural facilities, geometric design etc.,
• To assess the traffic improvement plans prepared for different corridors/areas in terms of its appropriateness to the specific corridor/area
• Monitor transport and other relevant sectoral policies, government orders, notifications and private sector developments to inform work
• Liaise with other departments within BMRCL and with DULT, BMTC and other public agencies and government bodies at the city level
• Develop strategies for sustainable connectivity options from perspectives of commuters and service providers
• Coordinate with external vendors and consultants for oversight of quality and timely completion of deliverables
• Explore innovative opportunities and provide insights on areas for future projects, opportunities, and challenges for connectivity
• Design projects from the preparatory phase to data collection to the on-ground implementation to delivery, with adherence to timelines and attention to the quality of output.
• Collaborate with other departments, NGOs, research institutes and Government bodies at the city level
• Prepare technical reports, policy notes, presentations, and other documentation materials
• Any other responsibilities assigned by higher officers
