Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Architecture, Urban Design, or a related spatial discipline

Experience1. Architectural or urban design experience with a critical understanding of its institutional frameworks 2. Familiarity with justice-based, feminist, decolonial, ecological, or community-led design approaches 3. Experience with organising/facilitating ateliers, pedagogical experiments, exhibitions, or collaborative design events 4. Excellent English writing and communication skills 5. Portfolio with publications or equivalent research outputs 6. Bonus: Fundraising or experience building collaborations
Salary€2,960 – €4,670 per month (scale 10, CAO Dutch Universities), based on full-time contract

Job Description

1. Lead desk research and interviews to trace exclusionary mechanisms in design pedagogy
2. Develop interpretive frameworks to guide project direction
3. Co-design and facilitate the Atelier of Designing Otherwise, an experimental lab for marginalized design traditions
4. Use ethnographic and performative methods to generate collaborative knowledge
5. Translate observations into manifestos, pedagogical prototypes, and curriculum tools
6. Consolidate learnings into publications and policy recommendations
7. Work directly with project lead Dr. Irene Luque Martin and contribute to reimagining design education through justice and care
