Skills and Qualifications

· Post-graduation in any field of Urban Design / Urban Planning in Architecture, or Planning. (M.Arch in Urban Design preferred)

· Proficiency in English and Hindi is a must. (Reading and Writing)

· Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis is a requirement.

· Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD. Knowledge of ArcGIS and any other analytical software is desirable

· Good working knowledge of road safety practices in India and abroad.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as the ability to collaborate with other stakeholders on project delivery.

· Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, think creatively, work calmly and enthusiastically under high pressure

Experience1.5 years to 2 years of work experience in road safety and/or street designing/engineering, with program implementation and project management experience.

Organisation Details

The organizational structure of the Road Safety program includes a Project Associate who is primarily responsible for evaluating the Street and Intersection designs by various agencies. S/he will also be required in preparing Street and Intersection designs in most cases and will be involved in the stakeholder engagements that are associated with it. With his/her knowledge in the realm of road safety, the candidate will assist in materializing the consortium’s vision of “Towards Zero Traffic Deaths” in the committee assigned to him/her.

Job Description

The candidate will undertake and oversee a range of responsibilities under the program, as listed below:

· Provide expertise on, prepare and supervise detailed Street and Intersection design proposals.

· Consult relevant standards, regulations, and other published guidance.

· Prepare for and participate in meetings, conferences, training, etc. on project-related work.

· Liaisoning with the various government agencies and stakeholder management.

· Conduct tactical urbanism intersection trials in coordination with the team members and other departments.

· Conduct internal and external capacity development programs on street design and road safety.

· Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports.

· Actively conduct and participate in Raahgiri Day events with stakeholders and partners.
