Skills and Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Dutch university study program (required)
• Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or a related field (graduate preferred)
• Excellent writing and storytelling skills
• Interest or experience in social media, web content, graphic design, and data storytelling
• Knowledge of tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, WordPress, Drupal, Google Analytics, Ortto, Emplifi, and Asana (preferred)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for environmental protection
• Fluent in English

ExperienceExperience through academic projects, internships, or volunteer roles in communications, sustainability, or digital content

Job Description

As a Communications Intern, you’ll support WRI’s Land & Forests team in:

Content creation for major events like COP30 and data launches (blogs, emails, social posts)

Supporting strategic messaging, visual storytelling, and promotional content

Managing web updates and monitoring campaign effectiveness

Assisting with stakeholder coordination, event planning, and logistics

Collaborating across teams to build engagement and visibility of WRI’s tools, events, and data-driven insights
