NIRF Ranking 2023 | Architecture Colleges
The Ministry of Education proudly presents the eighth India Rankings for 2023. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) factors determine these rankings. This edition consolidates, improves, and expands the seven annual exercises from 2016 through 2022.
New categories and subject domains have expanded the India Rankings over time. The number of participating institutions and those ranked in various categories and academic domains has also grown. 8686 HEIs participated in 2023, up from 3565 in 2016. Categories and subject domains rose from 4 in 2016 to 13 in 2023.
For continuity, the 2023 ranking exercise provides a “Overall” rank, separate ranks for Universities, Research Institutions, Degree Colleges, and discipline-specific ranks in Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Law, Medical, Dental, and Architecture & Planning. From 2023, the rankings cover Agriculture & Allied Sectors and Innovation.
India Rankings aim to reveal educational institutions’ quality and performance with each issue. It shows the dedication to excellence in higher education and helps students, parents, and academia make informed decisions. The Ministry of Education looks forward to the eighth edition of India Rankings improving Indian education.

NIRF rankings are primarily based on 5 parameters:
- Teaching and Learning Resources(TLR)
- Graduation Outcome(GO)
- Perception(PR)
- Outreach and Inclusivity(OI)
- Research and Professional Practice(RP)
Since 2018, participation has been made compulsory for institutes receiving public grants from the government.
