The Edge Pereire of Saint-Germain-en-Laye is an exceptional strategic location, on the one hand by its position at the entrance to the city and on the other hand, by its direct contact with the forest. A first bias was to promote the interweaving of different uses and functions in a single coherent space. The Pereire edge becomes a hybrid zone, mixing both housing and activities, collective life and privacy, city and nature. At the same time, the primary desire was to return the forest to the inhabitants. It was necessary to deploy and enrich the landscape vocabulary of the place and adapt it to the urban context. The natural variations of the forest (edge, clearing…), the materials and particularities of the site as well as the emblematic figures of the city (the Terrace of Lenôtre…) are all elements that have developed the urban project. New spaces, new landscapes are created while remaining very close to a context.
