Skills and Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Engineering, Project Management, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science programs is desirable.

ExperienceA minimum of ten years (10) years of progressively responsible experience in urban planning and management, housing development, policy formulation, institutional capacity development, and other issues related to UN-Habitat’s mandate is required. Experience working on governance, planning, human security, or policy-related issues in the area of human settlements is desirable. Experience in senior-level interaction with UN and Government counterparts is desirable. Recent working experience in a conflict/post-conflict context is desirable. Experience in resource mobilization, donor relations, and outreach is desirable. Experience in establishing partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including at the strategic level is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
SalaryAs per industry norms.

Organisation Details

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-Habitat, is the agency for human settlements, mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. UN-Habitat is also the lead agency within the United Nations system for the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and Sustainable Development Goal 11.

Job Description

Leading the programme team in Ukraine to implement UN-Habitat’s mandate in the current emergency situation, focusing on the development of city profiles and analysis to identify the rehabilitation/recovery needs of damaged housing and public facilities and utilities.
Representing UN-Habitat at the United Nations Country Team, the Humanitarian Country Team in addition to other forums, and coordinating with government counterparts and local authorities to identify needs and advocate among the donors’ community for fund raising.
Managing outreach activities and supervises internal and external communications (written, website, social media, etc.).
Carries out regular project monitoring activities/missions when security conditions allow and ensures timely and quality delivery of planned/expected accomplishments and results and prepares narrative reports to donors, as well as regular progress reporting to headquarters.
