Terminal degree in architecture or interior design (Master of Architecture or equivalent; MFA, MID, MA for interior design candidates).
Desirable: Licensure and a thorough knowledge of design history, theory, and practice.
Preference for applicants familiar with the North American model of studio-based design education.
Excellence or potential for excellence in teaching and ability to develop scholarly or creative projects.

ExperienceEarly to mid-career applicants; academic experience is preferred.

Organisation Details

The College of Architecture, Art, and Design (CAAD) at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) offers highly ranked architecture and interior design programs with a diverse student body. The Bachelor of Architecture at CAAD is the first program outside North America accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).

Job Description

The fellowship is a 10-month appointment designed to develop teaching expertise while supporting a new or established scholarly or creative project. Fellows will receive mentorship, access to CAAD’s world-class fabrication labs, and support for their projects, culminating in a solo exhibition and public lecture. Teaching areas include design, urbanism, fabrication, and building technology.
