Organisation Details

The University of Glasgow’s Social and Urban Policy group, within the College of Social Sciences, is internationally recognized for cutting-edge research on urban governance, policy innovation, and social change. The POLART project explores the interplay between art practices and the production of public policy, contributing to alternative, community-engaged forms of policy knowledge.

Job Description

The successful applicant will undertake a funded PhD investigating how urban art festivals can function as spaces of political and policy engagement. Through qualitative and interdisciplinary methods, the research will analyze how contemporary art intersects with public policy formation and cultural governance, with a potential focus on Scotland. The PhD is embedded within the larger European Research Council funded POLART project and will contribute to knowledge production at the intersections of public policy, arts, and urban society.
