1. Comprehensive understanding of the Western Australian Planning system, including legislation, state planning policy, statutory procedures, and requirements.
2. Thorough understanding of the complex challenges of urban planning in inner city areas, and the application of social, economic, and environmental principles in the development of cities.
3. Strong ability to effectively plan, organise and manage your time and workload to ensure high quality work is delivered on time.
4. Strong ability to undertake research and analysis, and to think strategically and critically.
5. Outstanding written, verbal and communication skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
6. Extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of complex planning scheme amendments, planning policy, and more broadly local planning strategies and local planning
8. A tertiary qualification in Urban Planning
