Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree preferably with Master’s degree or equivalent in management, urban planning, engineering or relevant fields.
2. At least 8 years of relevant professional experience of working in the urban development sector. Exposure to the tourism sector such as tourism policy development/planning or tourism infrastructure development would be an advantage; and at least 4 years of supervisory experience.
3. Familiarity with accepted best practices of procurement and disbursement processes
4. Proficiency in the use of technology packages (common word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics, PowerPoint, and web-browsing and search engines)
5. Familiarity with local languages and institutions
6. Flexibility to perform variety of tasks and expand the scope of work and responsibilities as needed
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Job Description

The Senior Project Officer (Urban Development) provides technical and operational support in urban development sector in line with S2030’s (specially Operation Priority 4 on Making Cities more Livable). The main responsibilities include support for the developing, implementing and administering projects and technical assistance in the urban development sector. The incumbent will report to Country Director and/or designated international staff (IS) and may supervise administrative staff (AS).
