Skills and Qualifications

• Master`s Degree in architecture, civil engineering or geography are preferred, candidates from other disciplines with relevant research and teaching experience in the field of urban and regional planning are also welcome to apply.
• Applicants that can document a combined experience from planning practice and research are appreciated.
• Research experience demonstrated through successful funds applications, coordination and participation in research projects, as well as publications and peer-review in scientific journals will be an added advantage.
• Good written and oral communication in a Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.

ExperienceYou must have the qualifications required for the position of Professor/Associate Professor in the field of Urban and Regional Planning, as outlined in § 1-2 (Professor) or § 1-4 (Associate Professor) of the regulations concerning appointment and promotion to teaching and research posts. • Your PhD and scientific experience must be primarily in the field of Urban and Regional Planning or a field that is relevant within a planning system and its the procedures, formal rules, and laws. • You must document profound research-based knowledge, or extended practice experience, or a combination of research and practice within urban and regional planning fields, as for example spatial and land use planning, urban mobility and transport planning, travel behavior, all with a clear focus on sustainable urban development. • Documented research or practice experience within the context of the Norwegian Planning and Building Act or a Scandinavian planning system. • Good written and oral communication in English
