Skills and Qualifications

• PhD degree in architecture, urban design, spatial planning, management of the built environment, computational design, or a related spatially aware discipline
• Preferably a Post Doc or at least two years of post-PhD experience
• Proven interest in integrated design approach and data-driven design processes
• Familiarity with integrated building models (BIM) and geographic information systems (e.g., ArcGIS)
• Demonstrated scientific skills through previous research and publications
• Excellent communication, networking, and collaboration skills
• Work experience in the field of architecture and urban design
• Leadership skills in working with multiple stakeholders are an advantage
• Good command of English (oral and written); proficiency in Dutch is a plus

ExperienceMore than 2 years post-PhD experience, preferably a Post Doc
SalaryAs per Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities

Job Description

The department of Architecture is seeking an Assistant Professor to work on the theme of Activating Design and Co-Creation within the section of Building Knowledge. This position is fully funded by the sector plan Design Engineering Science. The candidate will develop and contribute to both research and teaching under the guidance of the scientific staff of the academic group of Complex Projects.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing innovative design thinking theories and integrated approaches for co-creative design processes
• Exploring the interdisciplinary architectural design practice and responsible adoption of new technologies
• Inspiring colleagues and students through research and education
• Acquiring funding for new research projects
• Contributing to organizational tasks and the valorization of the group’s work
