Skills and Qualifications

Master’s degree in International Development, Economics, Urban Studies, Development Sciences, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with two additional years of experience may be considered.

ExperienceMinimum 2 years (Master's) or 4 years (Bachelor's) of experience in development-focused portfolios, urban planning, or mission-based strategies. Experience in complexity/portfolio design and strategy development. Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills. Facilitation experience in designing and leading workshops and meetings is an asset. Knowledge of Eastern Partnership region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) is preferred. Experience in systems thinking, design thinking, or visualization techniques is a plus. Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.

UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub supports local economic development, urban resilience, and financing mechanisms. The Portfolio Coordinator – Urban Missions will lead mission-oriented economy programs under the Mayors for Economic Growth Facility (M4EG) and contribute to the City Experiment Fund (STF) to drive green, inclusive, and smart urban transformation.

Job Description

Lead the Mission-Oriented Economy Programme under M4EG.
Design and implement urban mission-based strategies for local authorities.
Facilitate capacity building for stakeholders on systems thinking and iterative learning.
Support cities in portfolio development and urban innovation frameworks.
Coordinate regional and national partnerships for urban development programs.
Generate insights and knowledge products from urban transformation projects.
Engage donors, partners, and municipalities for funding and collaboration.
