Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Land Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong knowledge of wildlife conservation and habitat management
• Proficiency in GIS, data management, and record keeping
• Experience in ecological surveys and species monitoring
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to conduct public engagement activities and coordinate volunteers
• Full UK driving licence

Experience

• Experience in wildlife and habitat assessment and management
• Experience working in upland environments preferred
• Experience with conservation-led wildlife management practices
• Experience working with landowners, NGOs, and community groups

Salary• £33,593.50 per annum

Job Description

• Coordinate wildlife management activities across the Snaizeholme landscape
• Conduct ecological surveys including habitat monitoring and species tracking
• Support Red Squirrel conservation and Grey Squirrel control initiatives
• Manage contractors, volunteers, and conservation activities
• Contribute to research, reporting, and data collection
• Support habitat management including woodland, peatland, and wetland systems
• Deliver public engagement through events, presentations, and site visits
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and safety standards
• Maintain accurate GIS and survey records
