In the course of 2022, the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism announced an international competition for the conceptual urban-architectural solution of the center for the reception of animals from the CITES list and the zoo with the associated contact zone in Berane, which was open from July 29 to 30. September 2022. Since only two tenders were received within the prescribed period, and the call for tenders stipulated that the minimum number of submitted works was three, a decision was made to suspend the tender procedure for the selection of the conceptual architectural solution for the center for the reception of animals from the CITES list and the ZOO with its associated contact zone in Berane. In order to create a new, modern, affirmative space on the territory of the Municipality of Berane, which will contribute to the education and improvement of the care of endangered animal species, as well as the overall offer of the city and the mapping of Berane as a special tourist destination, the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism , is re- announced an international competition for the conceptual urban – architectural solution of the center for the reception of animals from the CITES list and the ZOO with the associated contact zone in Berane .
