• Degree in Planning, Architecture, Building Conservation, or related field
• Understanding of heritage conservation and planning processes
• Knowledge of listed buildings and conservation area regulations
• Strong communication and report writing skills
• Ability to work within development management frameworks
• Membership of IHBC is desirable

Experience

• Experience working in a Local Planning Authority or similar role
• Experience dealing with listed building consent and conservation area applications
• Experience advising on heritage and planning matters

Salary£38,220 to £41,771 per year

Job Description

• Provide specialist heritage and design advice for planning applications
• Handle pre-application enquiries related to heritage assets
• Process Listed Building Consent and Conservation Area Consent applications
• Advise on planning proposals in historically sensitive areas
• Manage and monitor Buildings at Risk Register
• Support enforcement actions and serve formal notices when required
• Contribute to overall management of the historic environment
• Work closely with Development Management teams
