The city of Bengaluru with eight million vehicles is seeing a growth of 10% vehicles each year. Issues like road network congestion, road safety, traffic, pollution, etc. are plaguing the urban roads. More vehicles have also led to increased demand for parking at the cost of space on streets, marginalizing pedestrians and cyclists. Thus, area parking plans are being prepared to regulate the parking supply and at the same time ensure equitable distribution of road space for public transport and NMT. The main objective of the study is to prepare an Area Parking Plan for BBMP, Bangalore.
